– Most pregnant women need 4000iu daily to stay optimal, if they are overweight 2-3 stones add an extra 2-3000 iu. More than 5 stones overweight add another 4000 iu (8000iu total).
– Breastfeeding mothers: 6400 iu daily will achieve optimal levels for both mother and exclusively breastfed babies.
– Aim for 800-1000 iu daily for formula-fed babies, the calculation for this depending on formula intake is in the video.
